I've been really wanting to do an update on Audrey's developing little personality. I'm feeling the need to try to capture her sweetness, her funny language, and her current fascinations because I know this stage will go quickly. And we have so been enjoying it! Seriously, two year olds are just too much fun. We just try to soak her in as much as possible.
But...
I keep having these pictures nag at me saying that I can't do another post until I finally get them up. So here comes a long string of some semi-recent happenings. And then I'll feel free to write a bit more.
First up, my aunt Ann sent a few pictures from our lunch at her house in Arizona that I didn't see until after the last post. And, yay! -she got a shot of the kids' table that Audrey was pretty happy to join.
But then she wanted back on my lap and the grown-up table for a while too. Missing several cousins at the moment of this picture, but it was so fun to get to catch up with all of them.
Then, back at home, it was time to get in the mood for Easter with a little egg dying. She was pretty into it :)

After church on Easter we came home for a family brunch, nap, and backyard egg hunt! We practiced a little around the house in the preceding days, so when it was time to get out there she was Ready!

The whole thing was quite the step up from last year:
And, if you noticed the confetti in her hair, while Dada was hiding the eggs we broke into the confetti eggs that Grandma had sent and she had found earlier. The idea of smashing them to get the confetti out was too messy in her book, she preferred to puncture a hole in the paper end and shake them out. I wasn't really surprised.
Then we came inside and I had to stage a photo shoot with her big pink bunny, since we had done it the past two years.
First it got a big hug.
Definitely taller than last year:

Then she sat down to share some of her treats.

Again, quite the growth :)

A few weekends later we headed to DC for a family getaway. She did a great job on the drive, and we hit the ground running. First stop, a walk through the national mall and a nice evening view of the capitol.
The next day we hit up the monuments.

And then all the way back to the capitol. It was a lot of walking.
Audrey must have still been in the Easter egg hunt mood; she went crazy finding sticks and things in the grass.
We went to two Smithsonian museums also. The Air and Space Museum and the Natural History Museum. Both were a hit.
| Ryan really liked this one. I forget what it is. |

The Natural History Museum won major points when Audrey spotted two of her favorite animals.

| of course you have to do a picture like this, right? |
The White House was not far from our hotel, so it was our final visit the morning we left.
Next family trip...
Alaska!
It's coming so quickly!
